CYCLOMED WILL CONTRIBUTE TO REDUCE MARITIME TRANSPORT EMISSIONS BY 90% WITH POSEIDON PROJECT.

This challenging project, funded by 5 million euros and supported by 12 national and international entities, seeks to reduce maritime transport emissions in a cost-effective way with superconducting magnets and flywheels where Cyclomed Technologies, SL contributes its experience and know-how.

The project was launched in January 2023 and is scheduled to run for 4 years. During this period, Cyclomed together with the other partners will work on the development of an efficient, cost-effective, safe and environmentally friendly energy systems for the maritime industry.

Our contribution and experience in superconducting magnet and flywheel technologies will not remain in a laboratory testing, but will be assessed in two fully functional and in-service vessels owned by two powerful European industries such as Damen and the Spanish Balearia. With all this, we intend to contribute to reducing emissions from maritime transport by 90% in a cost-effective way, which is one of the objectives of the Clean Solutions Development Strategy and the target
of the European Green Pact, a package of policy initiatives that aims to put the EU on the path towards a green transition with the ultimate goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
